10 Gift Ideas for the Traveling Healthcare Professional

Both current and soon-to-be traveling healthcare professionals can be hard to buy gifts for. Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are here! My grandma already started asking me for gift ideas for this holiday season. If you are anything like me, I don’t feel that I need much or want too many material items that will make for more difficult packing in the future. Are you a current or soon-to-be traveling healthcare professional having a hard time coming up with ideas for things you might need? Looking to buy something special for the traveling healthcare professional in your life? Here are some of my favorite gift ideas for the traveling healthcare professional! Find the perfect gift for every budget!

Visiting our nation’s beautiful National Parks is a bucket list item for most travelers, but it’s not always cheap! If you plan on traveling to areas with national parks, a park pass could be the gift that keeps on giving! An annual park pass is $80. If you plan to visit 3 or more national parks this next year in your travel journey, the pass could be worth it!

See below for a list of popular national parks by state with their respective entrance fees. (Note: camping fees and special tours may carry an additional cost)

Are you adventurous? Are you always in action? A GoPro can be a great way to capture fun activities like skiing, snowboarding, ziplining, white water rafting, sky diving, and more!

What’s more – it’s a small piece of equipment that doesn’t take up much room in your bags at all! This is the perfect gift if you want to catalog your adventures on video to share with your family & friends at home.

3) SiriusXM Radio Subscription

SiriusXM radio has been a life-saver for me on cross-country drives from assignment to assignment. Whether you like listening to different eras and genres of music or talk radio or even sports broadcasting, SiriusXM is one thing that makes any road trip that much better!

4) Interior/Exterior Car Cleaning

As travelers, our cars are used A LOT! By the end of the year, they could use a good interior and exterior detailing. A gift card to have this done is a great gift for any traveler who is spending a lot of time in their car throughout the year.

5) Roku, Amazon FireTV, or Apple TV

What about entertainment while on assignment? You have to stay on top of all the latest Netflix crazes! Most furnished apartments will have a TV, but they might not all be equipped for streaming. Giving your traveler the gift of streaming will help them feel more at home. I love my Roku smart TV!

Who wants to cancel and re-subscribe to cable every 13 weeks? Not me! That’s too much work. With SlingTV, you don’t have to! They offer customizable subscriptions that suit nearly every viewers’ needs. (And it’s a lot cheaper).

7) AAA Membership

You can never be too careful when adventuring to unfamiliar places. We put a lot of wear and tear on our vehicles. AAA gives travelers piece of mind in the event they should need some roadside or emergency assistance while on-the-go.

Not sure where to start in your new city? Looking for a quick weekend getaway, but have limited time to explore? A sightseeing pass can be the perfect way to cram as much into a short weekend when visiting a new city. If you plan on doing multiple attractions, a sightseeing pass will allow you to do it for a fraction of the cost.

Two popular sightseeing passes are: City Pass d Sightseeing Pass

Both sightseeing passes offer admission to TOP ATTRACTIONS such as:

· New England Aquarium (Boston, MA)

· College Football Hall of Fame (Atlanta, GA)

· Skydeck Chicago (Chicago, IL)

· George W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum (Dallas, TX)

· Denver Botanic Gardens (Denver, CO)

· Space Center Houston (Houston, TX)

· American Museum of Natural History (New York, NY)

· Museum of the American Revolution (Philadelphia, PA)

· Aquarium of the Bay (San Francisco, CA)

· Museum of Pop Culture (Seattle, WA)

· Disney Land (San Diego, CA)

· Busch Gardens (Tampa, FL)

· Grand Canyon Tour (Las Vegas, NV)

· National Geographic Museum (Washington D.C.)

· Madam Tussauds (Nashville, TN)

· Mardi Gras World (New Orleans, LA)

It can be tough to stay on top of CEUs as a traveling healthcare provider. While juggling multiple licenses that each has a different renewal cycle, you need something that you can turn to in a pinch. Many states have specific CEU requirements such as HIV/AIDS, medical errors, ethics, jurisprudence, etc.

If your traveler is a new graduate and/or learning a new setting, you can’t go wrong with an unlimited CEU subscription such as MedBridge or Summit to help them stay on their toes to better serve their new patient population.

Live courses are great too, but all travelers should have access to a reputable CEU platform that they can access ANYTIME, ANYWHERE!

10) Gift Cards

Still stuck? You can never go wrong with gift cards! They don’t expire, and your lucky traveler will use them!

a. Restaurants

b. Travel Cards (airline, Airbnb, hotel, etc)

c. Gas Cards

d. Amazon

e. Target

f. SpaFinder
